I have the privilege of leading a poverty immersion experience for teenagers during the summer months. Reality Check is a 4 day event for teens from different backgrounds to come and learn what life in poverty is like for Clevelanders by getting to know them. It is my account of the things which the teens share with me, but what I (as a suburbanite who has much to learn) come to discover. I will attempt to shed light on the things that make people different and the common bonds we all share.
